"...I followed his advice and within a week she was so well behaved she was adopted..."

Reported Problem: Hyperactive, demanding dog with no basic manners.

Training Result: Dog listened very well to all commands from any person it encountered.

"A 6 month old American Pitbull came into my kennel. She and her brother were brought in to the city to be fought and if they survived to be bred. She was first in the New London kennel and when they couldn’t place her because of her high energy level she was transferred to us. I should have taken pictures of the bruises she gave me from jumping on me and pushing me into doors, walls and a tree! My assistant knows I have a soft spot for the bully breeds and therefore was trying to give the young dog a chance. Peter showed up after a few days of total chaos when I was ready to just cry. I didn’t want to give up but I felt we had tried everything to help her become a great addition to a family.

I asked him for advice and we spent; maybe 20 minutes together talking and Peter showed me some ways to help her calm down so she would no longer hurt me. I was amazed! After he left I followed his advice and within a week she was so well behaved she was adopted out to an experienced Pitbull owner with their 5 kids!

I work with many dogs of all types; I help a lot of dogs and cats and place them with a family that fits their personalities but sometimes I need help too."

"He seems to be calming down..."

Owner’s Reported Problem: Dog showed jealousy/aggression when owners gave affection to each other or their cats.

Training Result: Dog no longer jumping on owners when coming home from work and hugging. No longer chasing cat.

“I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know our little boy, Jonathan, is coming right a long.  He seems to be calming down some which is a good thing.  Not as much jumping or barking and no real cat chewing.  Our daughter even caught Jonathan sleeping all curled up together with the cat, one day last week.  I thank you for your wisdom in bringing our problem child, and us, around.”

"He is like a whole new dog. I can't thank you enough..."

Owners Reported Problem: Separation Anxiety and Jumping on Guests

Training Result: Dog no longer destroying crate and owners able to invite family and guests into house again.

“I just wanted to update you and let you know that Carter is doing wonderful! He is like a whole new dog. I can't thank you enough for all that you have taught the both of us. Even my friend's and family notice such a change in his behavior. Thank you again and I will certainly be recommending your services to others.”

"After just a few training sessions, Pookie was like another dog: she was quieter, more mellow, and happier!"

Owner’s Reported Problem: Inability to sleep at night. Dog did not listen and drove her nuts.

Training Results: Owner is now the pack leader. She is sleeping through the night and initiating own training with measurable results.

'I called Peter about my Bichon Frise, Pookie, because I was sleeping an average of about four hours per night. She would only sleep in the bed and would be up all night barking and playing. She also suffered from separation anxiety, was very hyper, and would not listen to anything I would say. Walking was stressful because she wouldn’t follow me and we would stop every ten feet until she was ready to continue!

My veterinarian suggested Prozac for her behavior, but I disagreed. I knew there had to be a better solution.

After just a few training sessions, Pookie was like another dog: she was quieter, more mellow, and happier! She slept in her crate, listened when I spoke to her, and our walks became fun because she followed me. As a result, I am a much happier and more confident dog owner and “leader.”

Peter’s approach is gentle and effective. Between training sessions, he was always available for guidance and advice. In addition, he was always willing to answer any kind of training question. I will attest to Peter’s work anytime, and I strongly recommend his consultation for your particular situation."
—Melissa and Pookie, Meriden, CT
